Hawa Mahal, meaning the “Palace of Winds,” was built in 1799 in Jaipur by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Its honeycomb-shaped façade features hundreds of small windows designed to allow cool air to flow through the palace, keeping it comfortable in Rajasthan’s desert climate.
This brick-built design celebrates Rajasthan’s royal architecture, cultural traditions, and clever climate-friendly engineering.
